About Patrick Bitzer

Patrick Bitzer has been the Coordinator of Innovative Ministries for the last 3 1/2 years. A native Californian, Patrick graduated from Monterey Bay Academy in northern California. He spent nine years on the east coast where he received his Bachelor degrees in Business and Music from Columbia Union College. After working in the Washington, DC area he returned to California to pursue his Masters in Business Administration which he completed in 2002 from Pepperdine University.

Patrick has dedicated himself to serving others. He has worked in many aspects of non-profit management including 6 years in health care management, 2 years in marketing at a Christian college, and over 13 years in arts management with such groups as the New England Youth Ensemble, Pro Arts International Choir, the Los Angeles Camerata and the Music Exposition.

He was a member of the leadership team that developed the Truth & Spirit young adult ministry at the Vallejo Drive Church in Glendale, CA. He was also the Praise Team Director there for three years.

Currently, he is developing and running programs for youth, young adults and community outreach activities at OCC. He created and leads the Youth Praise Team that at present has grown to 18 members and leads out in the worship service once a month. He leads the Membership 101: Youth Edition class and the Viewpoints current issues discussion series as well as social activities, retreats and mission opportunities for his target groups. He also sings in the Adult Praise Team and OCC Choir.

He is a passionate musician, skilled in several areas (composer, arranger, pianist, singer and percussionist) from classical to contemporary music. As a professional percussionist, he has performed classical music for such orchestras as the Thayer Symphony Orchestra, Washington Symphony Orchestra, Martinu Philharmonique of the Czech Republic, Los Angeles Camerata Orchestra, Cantori Domino Orchestra and extensively with the New England Symphonic Ensemble/New England Youth Ensemble. His performances have taken him to over 35 countries and to major venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, Cairo Opera House, Cape Town City Hall, Johannesburg City Hall, Notre Dame (Paris) and St. Martins-in-the-Field (London). He continues to do freelance performing in his off hours in the greater Los Angles area.

Patrick’s life mission is to enable people to find meaning, beauty and joy in life by sharing with them (through music and words) the real and relevant love of God.
